All in all, Chautauqua Adult Day Services programs provide a chance for older adults to be active, socialize and have quality of life.
Birthdays are important and each month the sites all celebrated participant birthdays.
Holidays are also very important. The Centers also offer Holiday programming by having Parties with Live Entertainment and refreshments for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mothers Day and more. Family members and friends are encouraged to come and attend and join in on the fun too.
Community Involvement Program
The agency offers its participants the chance to go on outings and do activities in the community. Activity Staff is there to assist persons who may be unable to do community outings while at home due to disability or frailness. Trips have included visiting the Erie Zoo, going out to lunch, going on a boat ride, visiting parks and much more.
The older adults at the sites often get together with children and students from local schools and day care centers to provide intergenerational programming. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces shows the true value of getting different generations together for a fund filled activity.
Alzheimer’s Day Program
Chautauqua Adult Day Services has a day program specifically for older adults with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Related Dementia.
The program provides a secure setting with special supervision and care provided by Adult Day Care trained staff. Caregivers are able to get a break from care-giving and peace of mind knowing that their loved one is being taken care of during the day.
