Grand Re-opening of Present Center
November 2013 – Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers, Inc., a United Way Agency Partner, recently celebrated the grand reopening of its Present Center location. The official presentation took place on Thursday, November 21 at the First Baptist Church (358 East Fifth Street in Jamestown).
The Present Center is a day program in Jamestown for older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss. The site had been closed for renovations and through the collaborative support of local organizations and businesses; the agency is ready to open its doors to once again provide its service to help older adults and caregivers in the community.
In addition to the reopening recognition, Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers, Inc. had the privilege of hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for clients and their families as well as staff, volunteers, and local dignitaries. Local dignitaries in attendance included Senator Catharine Young, Assemblyman Andrew Goodell, and Jacqueline Chiarot, representative from Congressman Tom Reed’s office. The event included a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings.
The Thanksgiving event also featured special recognition of past and present supporters of the Present Center program. They include C.A.R.T.S, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Cummins Engine, First Baptist Church, Chautauqua County Office for the Aging, Lake Shore Home Healthcare, RSVP Program, Sheldon Foundation, and the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County.
Frank Bercik, Chautauqua Adult Day Centers Executive Director states, “Collaboration is a big key to our success as an agency. Without the support and collaboration of so many agencies in Chautauqua County, our programs for older adults would not be possible. We recognize their important role in our continued existence.”
Karen Lucks, Associate Director adds, “We are not only appreciative of our many financial supporters, but also our wonderful staff and volunteers. Without their dedication to serve our valued clients on a day to day basis, our agency would cease to exist. We especially thank all the clients, supporters, and staff who prepared this wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Thank you everyone!”
