Dunkirk Center Celebrates Thanksgiving
December 2013 – On November 27, families and participants joined together to celebrate this special Holiday event at the Dunkirk adult day care site. Thanksgiving is a day devoted to giving thanks, counting blessings, and spending time with loved ones! Staff, Harold Lehman 13participants, and family, all celebrated by eating a traditional Thanksgiving dinner complete with all the trimmings. Special thanks to the staff and clients who helped prepare this wonderful meal as well as Wegman’s and Sam’s Club in Lakewood for providing food donations.
Chautauqua Adult Day Care Centers Inc. is a not for profit United Way agency, which offers affordable Senior Day Programs and Respite Care Services for adults sixty years of age and older who live in the community. The agency has four sites that serve all of Chautauqua County. The programs provide socialization and offer many opportunities for older adults to participate in activities during the day in a caring, friendly atmosphere with supportive staff and companionship.
The sites provide breakfast, snack, and a noon time meal for participants. There is also a Community Recreation Program that helps persons participate in outings in the community. The sites also offer pet therapy, ceramics, music programs, arts and crafts, and much more on an ongoing basis. Additionally, a Saturday Program is available in Jamestown.
